    Soldbuch to OberLt Haug – In 1943 he was Promoted to Oblt. His occupation before he was called up was a teacher! Interestingly he served with Feld Ersatz Btl 246 – Under the 246 Volks Grenadier Division! They were fighting in the area of Monschau during the Ardennes Offensive!   he had his own 7.65mm Pistol. His Medals are interesting – Westwall Medal Iron Cross Second class Black wounds badge KVK 2nd Class Iron Cross first Class! – in 1945! Note his picture – It seems to have been made after his injury. Note his Black wounds badge and his DRL badge! The entry stamp for the EK1 is hard to make out! But likely won it in Germany in March 1945!     Interesting piece of HJ History, not so often seen especially as well stamped as this! He was called up from Flieger Hiter Jugend gebiet Wien (27) on 9 June 1944, he must report to a NSFK-Sturm in Wien. He had to take the Call Up letter with him to the first meeting! It outlines the laws why he has to join up, is enforced (very thick). Some very nice stamps relating to the HJ on it!

His units where replacement units until he was sent to the – Begleit Kompanie ( Escort Company ) of the 1st Panzer Division!     This is an exceptional Wehrpass to Oberleutnant Otto Ganser –  from Ulm. He served with many units but those worth a mention are – Aufklärungs-Abteilung 5  – Kommandant von Ulm 5. Infantry Division. Aufklärungs-Abteilung 7 – Artillerieführer VII 7. Infanterie-Division Panzerjäger-Abteilung 296 – Under the 296 Infantry Division Panzerjäger-Abteilung 355 – under the 355. Infantry Division Training Extensive weapons training! K98a, Luger P08, LMG13,LMG 08/15, Kar K 30, HMG 08, MP18, Geschütz, LMG 34, MG34, Handgranate 24. Seems he was in service since 1930 with the Reichswehr for 5 Months. Drivers licence 1, 2 and 3. He was to be used on the front line as – Zugführer – Troop Leader! Served in Austria Annexation Invasion of Sudetenland and Mähren Invasion of Poland France – Fought in Dunkirk! Belgium Russia Medals and awards   Long Service Wehrmacht – 4th class Shooting Lanyard – Rifle Reichs Sport Badge in Bronze DR Sports Badge Sudetenland Campaign Medal Austria Medal with Clasp Iron Cross Second Class – For fighting near the Swiss Border in 1940! His battle list is very long and spans across both normal sides with two fold outs and even a extra mention of his battles on page 35! Included in the lot is a letter from Hauptmann Klein from PanzerJäg Abel 355. It sadly notes the details of Oberlt Gansers death – He was killed by a Russian Airplane bomb that landed in his position during a large battle. He was promoted on his Death to Oberleutnant. Also included is his – Death Certificate. He was Killed in Action on 28.8.1943 near Charkow Russia.     He served with various units, most interesting seems to be Landeschutzen Batl 487 – they were 6 Companies used for POW Guards! He is trained as a Wachmann – for POWs! In the town of Schüttdorf. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lager_Versen He learned to use the K98 Rifle and the MG34. His Last Unit was a MG unit – Grenadier Rgt 426 – under the 126 Inf Div. Later that year the unit would find itself in Leningrad. 126. Infanterie-Division He was awarded – 1942 – Ost Medal, and in 1943 a Black wounds Badge. He took part in the Fighting in Wolchow in early 1942. In 1943 he was shot in the knee, one month later on a transport to the main hospital he died of his wounds received the day before in Penna Russia.
