  • WW2 German Luftwaffe Soldbuch - Issued Jan 1945 - 'Endkampf Child Soldier' - Flak Kanonier (SOLD)

WW2 German Luftwaffe Soldbuch – Issued Jan 1945 – ‘Endkampf Child Soldier’ – Flak Kanonier (SOLD)

Luftwaffe Soldbuch to Kanonier Franz Hain – 16 Year Old

Born on the 24th of September 1928 into a Catholic family in Steinseiffen (W.B.K Neustrelitz)
The Soldbuch was issued by the Major Commanding the Schw.Flak.Ersatz Abteilung 60 in Wismar, on 05.01.1945.
Hain was only 16 years old, when he was sent to join his combat unit.
    Leichte Flak Abteilung 755 (o)
In January 1945 the unit was stationed in the Hamburg area under command of Flak Regiment 66 (3.Flak.Div).
According to the Lexicon der Wehrmacht: Units of the Division were thrown into combat against the advancing allied units in April 1945, finally surrendering on the 3rd of May
A book by veteran of the same Batterie as Hain wrote a book detailing his duty in the Batterie.

”Haarscharf am Abgrund vorbei . . .Als Luftwaffenhelfer in Krieg und Gefangenschaft, (2012) Friedrich Behrens ”

Also worth noting, that the 1.Batterie of Hains Flak unit are mentioned in  „Der Freiwillige“, 8/1978 it seems they were all killed in a senseless action in April 1945.

A very interesting Soldbuch to a ‘Child Soldier’ in the final days of the Third Reich. Condition is not the best, but all entries can be read. The picture was pulled on one corner ripping it, but there was a spare one inside the Soldbuch identical to Hains in the Soldbuch.

    WW2 German ‘Potato Masher’ – M24 Stielhandgranate

Known as the ‘Potato Masher’  – Model 1924 Stielhandgranate

FULLY INERT  – NO MOVING PARTS OR DANGEROUS PARTS.

The M24 is well known as the standard hand grenade of the armed forces of the Wehrmacht during World War II.

Adapting to the rapidly changing field of modern warfare, German soldiers would carry the M24 directly in front, allowing quick and easy access. However, in the later years of the war, it was often advised to carry them in a different manner, as it was very likely any sort of explosion or heat could light the fuse from the grenade on the belt, resulting in unnecessary casualties.

This example is in amazing condition, marked and dated for 1943 on the handle. It is complete with a fragmentation sleeve, original pull cord with porcelain ball, Fully inert!

The head, frag sleeve bottom cap and handle all able to be disassembled.

Nearly all of its original paint remains.

Head is maker marked DBK Richard Rinker GmbH, Neubrandenburg in Mecklenburg

Wooden Handle marked FCC : Nier, Hermann, Metallwarenfabrik, Beierfeld in Sachsen

See our list of Wartime Makers:  WW2 German Ordinance Alphabetic Codes

This is a must for any Ordnance Collector or those wishing to apply a finishing touch to their combat display.

Only 1 of these, as they are hard to find in this condition.
