They served under the 21st Infantry Division – Known as – Kommandant von Elbing 21. Infanterie-Division
He was missing in action in the High North near Ladoga Russia.
He was trained in the K98, LMG 34, Handgrenade 24, and pistol Luger P08.
Promoted to Gefreiter in feb 1943.
In July 1943 he won the Infantry Assault Badge – and the Black Wounds Badge.
he served before with two Feld Ersatz Units both 61 and 21. I have included two pictures with comments on the units!
His Company commander reported him missing in Action during the Postions/stellungs fighting in October 1943.
His previous injury , both his legs where squeezed in some sort of action – Likely a large piece of debris fell on him.
