Description

Soldbuch to Gefr Albert Dredenstedt

He served with:

Infanterie Regiment 532 (MG) Komp (383. Infanterie-Division)

He took part in Two assault days – One in Barantschick and Ekaterinowka.

It seems he was hit with a grenade fragment in the head when he was serving in a machine gun team on the eastern front. He would loose his eye as a result.
Interestingly, there is a paper in the Soldbuch stating he does not need to wear a helmet due to the injury.

He was awarded the Iron Cross Second Class – his award certificate is singed by General of The Artillerie Wodrig (Knights Cross Winner)

He was awarded also the Silver Wounds Badge in March of 1943 for the loss of his eye.

He was then posted in late 1944 to :

Landeschutzen Batl 316 guarding POWs in Kyritz.

A nice set, the cover has come loose but is complete.
