Description
Soldbuch Grouping to Christian Rummel, he was born in Schwalefeld Germany 11th of July 1922. He was a trained metal worker.
His replacement Soldbuch was issued on January 1943 and he was assigned with what seems to be:
2 Kompanie, Ski Feld Ersatz Bataillon 1 (1 Skijäger Division)
6? Kompanie, Feld Ersatz Bataillon 5 (5 Jäger Division)
The division retreated through the areas of Vitebsk, Kovel, and Narev during 1944. In early 1945, the division fought in the vicinities of Neustettin and Dramburg, with its last battles fought around Freienwalde near the Oder River during the Battle of Berlin in April 1945. The division surrendered to the Red Army at Wittenberge.
He was issued the K98 Rifle and was awarded the Wounds Badge in Black for November 1942.
Various photographs of Rummel in RAD Uniform, right through to portraits. Although the best photo is by far the photo in the Soldbuch, wearing the Stug Wrap but as a Ski Jäger.
Comes with his Pension card and his German expired ID, an interesting Soldbuch and photos from a rare to find Division.
What seems to be quite interesting is that he made it back from the front and was not captured by the Red Army, his POW release papers show he was a POW in France.
