Festungs Infanterie Batl 1008 – seems he served a while in Greece, members of his unit have been accredited with being awarded the Anti-Partisan Badge.

It seems he was captured with Feldzeug Kompanie 141.
Included is a letter to his loved ones from a POW Camp, nice and easy to read, states he is alive and well, and he sent the letter with a wounded soldier who was being discharged.
