Description
Stadler was issued his Soldbuch in Sept of 1939.
Interestingly he had his surname Germanised!
In between page 4 & 5 is a special entry for translators:
„Im Felde nicht mehr benötigte Sprachmittler sind sofort dem Ersatztruppenteil mit Angabe der Sprache sowie einer kurzen Beurteilung zu überweisen.“
Translation:
“Interpreters no longer needed in the field are to be transferred immediately to the replacement unit, with specification of the language and a brief evaluation.”
He seems to have had an eventful unit shift as a Translator!
It seems he took many different turns in various units how long he spent with each one is unknown.
Interestingly, he seems to be in Breslau in 1945!
Soldbücher to translators hardly ever come up!
He was awarded the KVK!
