Born in 1903 into a protestant family, he was a normal worker and was married.
His Soldbuch was issued on the 6th of April 1945!
This last ditch Soldbuch is a hard cover version, with no pouches and is of not great quality reflective of the situation at the time.

According to the Lexicon der Wehrmacht, his unit was thrown into action on the Oder Front in April 1945.
He seems to have been in a hospital in July of 1945, a lucky man to have survived the onslaught unleashed on the Oder…
