Description

’Der Spieß’’ Luftwaffe Flak and Festung Pak! Battle of Kolberg 1945! Flak Badge!

An interesting Soldbuch, Climbed the ranks to become the top NCO in his Unit! His last promotion was in February 1945! After a few years serving with various Luftwaffe Flak Units on the eastern front he was sent to Oslo with Flak act 781 and spent nearly two years with that unit.

But by far his most interesting unit is Festungs Pak Verband XXIV!

 1.-15./Festungs-Pak-Verband XXIV

(1 platoon with x4 – 8,8 cm Pak 43)

They were first designed for the protection of the German/Polish town of Swinemünde! Armed with the formidable Flak 8.8cm! Lastly his unit would fight the Russian in the last Battle of Kolberg!

‘’With the Soviet forces approaching in 1945, valuable equipment, most of the inhabitants, and tens of thousands of refugees from surrounding areas (about 70,000), as well as 40,000 German soldiers were evacuated from the besieged city by German naval forces in Operation Hannibal. Only about 2,000 soldiers were left on March 17 to cover the last sea transports.’’

He was issued some interesting items! Such as a three piece fork knife and spoon set! Also some tropical items, and a für jacket!

Interesting to note his little note inside the Soldbuch – ‘’For the defence of Swinemünde that Mr Brunner should not be told to do something else.

His medals –

In 1941 he won the Flak badge with Flak reg 64 in the Balkans.

in 1939 he was awarded the ‘’Sudentanland Medal’’ medal for the ‘1st October 1938’ for the annexation of the Czech Republic.

1941 he won War Merit Cross with Swords

1943 – The Medal for the Fight Against Communism. See picture – Its a Romanian Award.

He also received a Führer Present in 1944.

An overall interesting Soldbuch, from a rare to find rank! And even rarer battles!

Condition – Carried from 1938 till 1945, and is only missing the back cover.
